Recyling HMO fire extinguishers

A member with an HMO property in Edinburgh has for some years been trying to find a way of recycling old fire extinguishers from his HMO property, having found that the cost to replace them is less than the cost to have an annual service carried out. He has shared with us a solution he has found which may be of interest to other members:

Forth Fire Protection of Bonnington industrial Estate in Newhaven Road, Edinburgh took 10 fire extinguishers that I had collected over the years to replace with new ones at £3 each (incl VAT). In future they will certify my existing fire extinguishers on the anniversary of purchase for £10. To buy new costs over £25.
