New SAL member factsheet on lead testing

Changes to the Repairing Standard require landlords to ensure that from 1 March 2024 the water supply in their private rented properties is free of lead.

SAL has prepared a new factsheet which explains what landlords need to do to prepare for this new requirement coming in. The factsheet explains which water outlets need to be sampled, gives details of some laboratories that provide a lead testing service and outlines what action is required if the water samples indicate there is lead present in the property’s pipework.
