For landlords and letting agents in Scotland

Changes to the Repairing Standard require landlords to ensure that from 1 March 2024 the water supply in their private rented properties is free of lead. The factsheet explains the procedure to follow to ensure compliance with this duty, gives details of some laboratories that provide a lead testing service and outlines what action is required if the water samples indicate there is lead present in the property’s pipework.
