SAL gives evidence to parliament on Housing (Scotland) Bill
SAL has given evidence to parliament as part of its stage 1 scrutiny of the Housing (Scotland) Bill. SAL chief executive John Blackwood has taken part in two oral evidence sessions before the Local Government, Housing & Planning Committee.
A coalition of landlord/investor stakeholder groups involved in the evidence sessions has also submitted a joint letter to the committee, setting out its concerns about rent controls and possible solutions to alleviate those concerns. The letter can be downloaded and read here.
The Bill has now passed the first stage of its progress through parliament. The Bill has to go through two further stages of parliamentary scrutiny/voting before it becomes law. During these stages amendments can be proposed to the wording of the Bill.
