Member pleased with universal credit result

Thank you to all those who attended our universal credit roadshow series in autumn 2019. We are glad to hear that despite some frustrations with the universal credit system itself, that most found the events useful.

Members – if you do have any issues with universal credit, always contact SAL. We may be able to help you via our contacts at the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). This was the case for SAL member Robert McCulloch and we were very pleased to receive this postive feedback as below. Thank you Robert for taking the time to let us know. It was a pleasure to be of assistance to you and to hear of this good result.

“I attended a Universal Credit roadshow at Hampden Park Glasgow, organised by the Scottish Association of Landlords. This proved to be a worthwhile trip, as my predicament of having lost almost two months rent, was resolved due to the DWP admitting their error when dealing with the legality and timescale, to authorise an existing lease agreement.

John Blackwood of SAL liaised between the DWP and myself to arrive at this favourable outcome, resulting in the arrears being paid to my account. This is just one example of how a SAL membership can be of great value to your business. Robert McCulloch RFM LETS.”
