Delay to EPC reform

Due to the UK government announcing a delay to the introduction of EPC reforms until the second half of 2027, new style EPCs will no longer be introduced in Scotland on 31 October 2026. The current EPC system will remain in force until further notice. This will increase the calls for planned dates for introducing a minimum energy efficiency standard in the private rented sector to also be delayed beyond the proposed 2028 (for new tenancies) and 2033 (for all remaining PRS properties) dates. For more information on EPC reform and proposed minimum standards, see SAL’s factsheet here.
