Surveys and Certificates
Surveys and Certificates (SAC) is currently working throughout the UK to provide insulation and heating upgrades to domestic homes with a focus on vulnerable consumer groups.
Private landlords and tenants are eligible for fully funded insulation measures and heating upgrades (where the current heating is electric or solid fuel or where there is no heating at all present in a property) in many local authority areas including North and South Lanarkshire, West Lothian, Angus and Perth & Kinross. More local authorities are coming on board so please check with us for the latest availability in your area. In other local authority areas, the funded measures are available where the occupants are in receipt of certain benefits.
To keep in line with government legislation and guidelines, private and social housing landlords will in future have an obligation to get properties up to a minimum EPC requirement. See SAL’s latest EPC information here.
Funding is available for all types of insulation, loft, cavity wall, room in roof, flat roof, underfloor, internal and external insulation as well as heating upgrades.
We are currently working on similar schemes including:
- Converting inefficient electric heating to gas central heating
- Installing a full central heating system in qualifying properties
- Fitting combi boilers with radiators and heating controls
- Installing any applicable insulation measures before heating upgrades
- Upgrade of electric storage heaters where it is not possible to install GCH.
Warranties and gas safety certificates are provided on completion.
There is also funding available for Solar Panels and Air Source Heat Pumps for qualifying properties.
We are extensively working with homeowners, private landlords, tenants, factors and letting agents. We would be happy to provide any testimonials or references on request.
Some of benefits of these upgrades include:
- Increasing the EPC banding and value of the property
- Noticeable reduction in rising fuel costs
- Lower carbon emissions
- More environmentally friendly home
- Warmer home
Each property is assessed individually, and a Retrofit Survey must be completed beforehand to document the existing standard of heating and insulation which will determine any applicable upgrades.
Surveys are “free of charge” with no obligation to proceed.
An updated EPC can be provided after installation reflecting any upgrades.
